Take a 7 day
break at our Husky kennel, staying in top class cabins and houses you will
have the chance many just dream of....to drive and care for your own team of
Siberian Huskys, we cater for all ages, we teach you all the aspects of dog
care and sled driving skills on tracks from 5 to 60 km..
This really is for everyone we have no problems to teach your children to
drive their own dogteam.
DAY 1....
Arrive at Östersund, taxi transfer to kennel, meet the staff, the dogs and
look
around, training film after dinner.
DAY 2.... Some practical instruction with the equipment and dogs, how
to prepare sled
and harness dogs, learn to drive the sled then....
after lunch your first 6 kms behind a dog team.
DAY 3....
Harness up your team and leave for a 6 km trip before lunch
In the afternoon a 15 km further into the wilderness.
DAY 4.... Leaving the kennel mid-morning we take a 35 km round trip,
stopping on a
frozen lake to fish through the ice and take a bbq lunch of the catch.
DAY 5.... A 40 km trip starting in the afternoon and returning in the
night, an
experience you wont forget ..driving in the moonlight, this is when the
forest comes to life.
DAY 6... A full 60 km day trip with stops for coffee, lunch and
campfire, with plenty of opportunities to take photos of some great views.
DAY 7.... After breakfast, say goodbye to your dogs, return to Östersund.
ACCOMMODATION.... fully equipped cabins and houses.

What to bring on your "Husky fun" trip:
To wear:
-thermal long underwear
-fleece long mid-layer
-good fleece or similar jacket or sweater
-outside layer in wind stopper material or skiing style jacket and pants
-finger gloves (fleece wind stopper or skiing style gloves)
-good had that protect ears and give good isolation
-neck gaiter (for sale at axe handle 100 Sek)
Bring or rent here:
-boots (-40°C)
-Mittens (-40°C)
Handy:
-some (6) chemical hand warmers
-sunglasses and/or skiing goggles
-camera
