Climate:
Axehandle Mountain is based next to a mountain range, and is substitute to a mountain climate,
temperatures can vary in winter from 0°C to -40°C.
If you check the internet or newspapers for the weather forecast you need to realize that real
temperatures are always a bit lower than announced.
Also weather predictions can vary, like in most mountain climates, specially close to the cost,
weather can change in a few minutes.
Nature:
Because we are based pretty far North, we have a low population for each km² and close to a mountain range, means that there is a big variation of wildlife. In winter specially snow hares, fox, lynx, badger, reindeer, roe deer, moose, beaver and many birds of pray.
Also bear (who sleeps in winter), wolf (only recently back and very rare) and wolverine (very few
left) are around.
The mountain range go up to about 1500meter, this is comparable with 3500meter in the Alp's,
the tree line is at 800meter, rivers and lakes are frozen and the roads are snowed in.
Far north so Northern lights are very frequently around here, and that really spectacular.
As you can see on the map bellow, we are situated in a top average snow zone for Sweden.
